The Texas Commercial Airports Association (TCAA) joined state leaders, advocates, and survivors at the Texas Capitol for Human Trafficking Awareness Day, highlighting efforts to combat human trafficking across the state.

The event featured a keynote address from First Lady Cecilia Abbott, who emphasized Texas’ leadership in the fight against human trafficking and the importance of community awareness. Representative Senfronia Thompson presented an official resolution recognizing the work of Texas commercial airports in prevention efforts. Rhonda Kuykendall, a survivor and advocate, shared her powerful story, reinforcing the need for continued action.

TCAA Board Chair Tim Joniec spoke about the initiatives Texas airports are leading, including partnerships with the Department of Homeland Security and other organizations to identify and prevent trafficking. Executive Director Erika Boyd underscored the importance of collaboration in protecting vulnerable individuals.

TCAA remains committed to working alongside law enforcement, community partners, and the travel industry to raise awareness and strengthen anti-trafficking initiatives.
